Title: Social influences on drug and food craving: from behavior to brain signatures
Speaker: Leonie Koban (Centre national de la recherche scientifique, Paris)
Location: In Person & Online via Zoom
Abstract: Human behavior and health are profoundly shaped by social factors. What are the brain mechanisms underlying these social context effects? In this talk, I will present behavioral and fMRI studies demonstrating how craving and decision-making are modulated by social context. I will also discuss how machine learning can be used to develop fMRI-based ‘brain signatures’ that predict mental states such as craving and mentalizing. These signatures can serve as novel targets for probing the effects of social context and other types of interventions.
